Church of the Holy Spirit

San Antonio, Texas

The Rev. Jason T. Roberts, Vicar of the Church of the Holy Spirit, began on September 16, 2009. He comes to Holy Spirit after serving for 5 1/2 years as the Assistant turned Associate to the Rector for Service and Evangelism in Richmond, Virginia, at Grace and Holy Trinity Church. He holds degrees from James Madison University, Virginia Theological Seminary, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Jason married his wife, Susannah, in January of 2009.  She is a surgery resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. Emma Katherine, their daughter, was brought out into the world on April 7, 2010, which also happens to be the same birthday of Jason!
Jason and Susannah also share in the joy of "lovin' on" two dogs and two cats. In his spare time, Jason enjoys most anything having to do with a Frisbee.

Mrs. Pat McCarty is the Parish Secretary of the Church of the Holy Spirit. In addition to being the first voice you hear when you call the church, Pat can be seen setting up the altar, singing in the choir, and doing just about anything that needs to be done.

Interim Minister of Music

Mr. Robert (Rob) Rogers has been a church musician for most of his life.  Beginning as early as grade school he sang in church choirs with his parents.  During his 4th and 5th grade years he was a member of the Mobile Singing Children, a community childrens choir in the Mobile, AL area.

Mr. Rogers joined band in 6th grade at Driscoll Middle School (in the Northeast ISD, San Antonio, TX), and has been incorporating his horn playing into church music often since then.  He continued to sing throughout Middle School at various church choirs, and joined his High School choir during his sophomore year at MacArthur High School.  Mr. Rogers was a member of several Region Bands, Choirs, and Orchestras during his public schooling.

After graduating (Summa Cum Laude) from MacArthur in 2000, Mr. Rogers went to get his Bachelors of Music Education from Texas Tech University.  During this time he sang with the choirs at the university, as well as being a scholarship student at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lubbock, TX.  During his last year there he shared rehearsal responsibility with the music ministers.  (Mr. Kim Clowe, the music minister at FCC had eye surgery in the fall of 2004, and during his hospital stay Mr. Rogers led the choir during rehearsals and performances.)

Since graduating (again Summa Cum Laude) Mr. Rogers has taught in public schools in the San Antonio area (4 years at Taft High School and 1 year at Rudder Middle School).  He continues to gig in the area as both a singer and horn player, and enjoys leading dedicated musicians in worship.

Interim Accompanist

Jessica Koppe is a regular at Holy Spirit in the choir and has also substituted on Sundays as the music leader. She is a chorus teacher at Luna Middle School here in San Antonio.
