The Rev. Jason T. Roberts, Vicar of the Church of the Holy Spirit, began on September 16, 2009. He comes to Holy Spirit after serving for 5 1/2 years as the Assistant turned Associate to the Rector for Service and Evangelism in Richmond, Virginia, at Grace and Holy Trinity Church. He holds degrees from James Madison University, Virginia Theological Seminary, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Jason married his wife, Susannah, in January of 2009.  She is a surgery resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. In addition to having two dogs and two cats, they are expanding their litter and expecting their first child in April of 2010! In his spare time, Jason enjoys most anything having to do with a Frisbee.


James Edward Garcia, Music Minister at the Church of the Holy Spirit and a native of San Antonio, Texas, is a composer, tenor, conductor, and bass guitarist. He received his Bachelor Degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he has also done graduate work in Choral Conducting.
Mr. Garcia has sung as a member of the San Antonio Choral Society, the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers, and various church choirs.  He has also performed with regional bands such as E7, the Paul Kandera Jam Session Band, Circle of Fifths, and Out Of Phase.
In addition to serving as Music Minister at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit since 2003, Mr. Garcia is also Co-Founder, Artistic Director, and Composer of the Choral Consortium of San Antonio, and Tenor with the 3pifani Voices Ensemble.
He enjoys teaching privately for the Northside Independent School District, where he also serves as adjudicator and clinician.
Mr. Garcia is married to alto and pianist Tawni Raye Garcia and has four children. He enjoys independent films, art & history museums, architecture, astronomy & cosmology, philosophy, theology, fashion, poetry, and cooking.
The Garcia family has two fish named Barricade and Strawberry Shortcake and two hamsters named Digger and Rascal.


After graduating in the Spring of 1996 with a degree in All-Level Choral Education, Tawni Raye (Hood) Garcia, Music Minister at the Church of the Holy Spirit, taught for six years in the Judson ISD at the elementary school she had attended as a child. For the last seven years, she has accompanied choirs for Northside ISD, as well as instrumental and vocal students for competitions statewide. Currently, she is in her first year as a middle school choir director for Northside ISD. She has proudly shared the position of Music Minister at Church of the Holy Spirit with her husband, James, since July 2003. Along with her husband and another couple, she founded a local choir - Choral Consortium - where she serves as Chorus Director and Assistant Conductor. The choir just finished their 3rd season and is making preparations for the 4th. She is also a member of the vocal trio 3pifani Voices. Mrs. Garcia is an active member of the Texas Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and a life member of the music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. She is a founding member of the Theta Gamma Chapter. Tawni has four children - sons Jonathan, Trinity, & Toran; and daughter, Jazzmin.
The family shares their home with two Betas the children named Tinkerbell and Barricade and two hamsters, Digger and Rascal.


Mrs. Pat McCarty is the Parish Secretary of the Church of the Holy Spirit. In addition to being the first voice you hear when you call the church, Pat can be seen setting up the altar, singing in the choir, and doing just about anything that needs to be done.
