February 2012
Dear Fellow Followers of Christ:
What a tremendous January for our congregation! It is such a
blessing to be a part of a congregation that seeks to serve Christ in so many
ways. On Sunday mornings, I love to stop for a moment and just watch our church
at work. Here is what I see –
The youngest among us in our
nursery are building relationships while doing art projects, playing and just
being children.
Our elementary school children,
middle schoolers, high schoolers, and adults are all enjoying
one another’s company and learning
what it means to be Christ followers.
The Hospitality Team is preparing
coffee to enliven those who are in need of caffeine.
The altar guild is serving Christ
while preparing our altar for the holy moment of the
Eucharist.
We have our greeters and ushers
gathering and setting up so that even the newest guest
entering the worship space feels
pulled in and receives a holy hospitality.
Our choir is warming up getting ready to offer
themselves as worship leaders and guides for
our weekly gathering.
The Sunday Sexton is running around
setting books up in chairs, moving tables, and
preparing our worship space.
Then there are countless others who
arrive early or stay late to pitch in, set up, tear down, offer a lending hand,
share a story, give a smile, offer a hug, and just be witnesses of Christ’s restoring
love in our lives.
And this is
just on Sunday mornings…
Thank you for all that you do to live into God’s hope for
our church of restoring all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.
Faithfully,
Jason
