This theme will be incorporated into the meditation guide, Tuesday night Bible studies, youth activities, and Sunday worship services.

We will also take advantage of the photography exhibit by Michael Nye, Hunger, at the Witte Museum to see and hear the stories of individuals whose lives have been affected by hunger.

Holy Spirit Meditation Guide 2010

Holy Spirit has once again put together a mediatation guide. These are reflections and artistic works by the members and friends of the Church of the Holy Spirit.

2010 Lenten Meditation Guide

 

Tuesday Night Bible Studies

Each Tuesday evening in Lent we will come together to study scripture and hunger.

We will gather at 6:00 pm for fellowship and a light dinner and begin our study beginning at 6:30 pm, ending by 7:30 pm.

  • Tuesday, February 16, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinners
  • Wednesday, February 17, Ash Wednesday
  • Sunday, February 21, Special Guest preacher, Jill Oettinger,  Executive Director of Good Samaritan Community Services
  • Tuesday, February 23 , Bible Study at Ashley Jackson's, 6:00pm - 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, February 28, Bishop's Visitation
  • Tuesday, March 2, the Bible Study travels to hear a lecture from Ambassador Ertharin Cousin, US Ambassador to UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture. Only 10 spaces are available for this lecture with priority given to those who signed up for the Bible study. This evening is sponsored by the Global Foodbanking Network, H-E-B, and the World Affiars Council of San Antonio. Email Jason to learn more.
  • Tuesday, March 9, Tuesday night Bible Study goes to the Witte Museum for exhibit on Hunger. Meet at I-Hop at 5:30 pm or at the Witte entance at 6:20 pm.
  • Tuesday, March 16, Tuesday night Bible Study at Ashley Jackson's
  • Sunday, March 21, Congregational trip to the Witte for the artist talk and tour at the Witte. 2:00 pm
  • Sunday, March 28, Palm Sunday
